System Design Services

Cooper Energy Engineering is able to provide a full range of system design services for installers & EPCs working on projects, from a quick PV performance calculation to a full pack of construction documentation.

We can integrate into your operations team for the entire project cycle, from initial survey and scoping, through construction phase and into O&M.

Our design service is supported by the leading CAD packages, including: PVSyst, Helios 3D, Amtech ProDesign, Autodesk AutoCAD (3D, C3D, MEP & ACE) & Vehicle Tracking.  We actively encourage feedback from our clients’ operations teams and subcontractors to ensure that our designs stay informed of the best real-world practices.

We have an extensive background in the design of systems to meet local requirements. All of our UK design projects comply with current versions of BS7671, ER G99, MIS3002, Electricity at Work Acts, ESQCR and other related standards. We maintain a comprehensive reference library including ancillary documents and standards, ACOPs, Guidance Notes and Best Practice Guides. Projects overseas will be designed to codes specified by the Client (generally to suit local practice).

We can provide designs and documentation to whatever level of detail is required, from outline planning drawings, to headline specifications for a tender package through to full construction-phase plans.
Our electrical design scope can include the main DC and AC power circuits, the detailed control wiring and the private HV and earthing systems. Most aspects of the electrical design can be carried out in-house; where more specialist studies (such as G5/4 harmonic assessments) are required we can use established experts as part of a complete service.
Our engineering experience extends from small commercial systems up to utility scale projects. Our largest design project to date is a 50MWp solar park in north-west UK, and a 50MVA battery storage park providing grid support services in the south-east.
