Technical Feasibility Studies

If you are considering a solar PV or battery storage system on your property, the first stage is to establish the feasibility of the project.
CEE can provide a site survey by a qualified engineer, followed by a detailed study and report investigating the technical and financial viability of the scheme, giving you an idea of scale, costs & performance.

Our team will review the technical aspects, covering how the system might connect to your existing electrical installation, mounting opportunities, constraints from the distribution network, any practical considerations, and creating a bankable, detailed 3D shading & performance model in PVSyst.
As the UK’s FIT scheme tightens up, it is imperative that the system performs, in both carbon and economic terms. Bigger is definitely not always better, and we can investigate various options to optimise the amount of energy used by on-site processes.

We are independent of any installer or supplier and have no vested interest in “selling” any particular solution, but thanks to our design service for EPCs you can be sure that our solutions are practical and our findings relevant.
Our feasibility studies for a building-connected system will typically include the items in the box-out, but we can tailor the scope of the study to suit your needs.

Studies for Installers & EPCs

We can (and do) provide this service through installers and EPCs, to include as part of their proposals to clients, as long as the independence of our report is maintained. Where a specific configuration is already being discussed, this will be taken into account

A typical study includes
  • Site survey
  • Existing electrical installation
  • Layout & siting options
  • Shading & yield modelling
  • Load profiling
  • Power flow analysis
  • Grid connection study
  • Financial performance model
  • Options appraisal
  • Design optimisation
  • Construction considerations & risks
  • Detailed formal report
