Assistant PV Engineer
We currently have a high volume of work with developers of Solar Parks, and we are looking for an Assistant PV Engineer to join the team and assist with planning applications, grid applications and site layouts.

Overview
The Assistant Engineer will undertake a range of engineering activities, depending on our clients’ needs. This will include producing system designs and drawings, drafting professional advice and undertaking surveys.
Engineers of all levels will also be involved in sales and worksearch activities, such producing and managing proposals to clients. Engineers and Senior Engineers may additionally be responsible for junior members of staff.

Key Responsibilities
- Producing detailed AutoCAD drawings and plans
- Running performance simulations and optimising designs
- Managing grid connection applications
- Performing design calculations in accordance with relevant standards
- Surveying prospective sites and existing installations
- Drafting engineering reports and critical studies
- Seeking, submitting and managing sales proposals to clients
- All engineers are responsible for their continuous professional development, which we will actively support

Minimum Requirements
All candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate the following:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Autodesk AutoCAD and other modelling and design tools
- Theoretical understanding of photovoltaic system design, implementation and operation
- Familiarity with engineering design and project management processes
- Fluent oral and written English in a technical context
- A-level or higher qualifications in engineering-related subjects
- Full driving licence
Additional Skills
We would look favourably on candidates able to offer the following:
- Electrical system designs at low or high voltage, and to BS7671 in particular
- Proficiency with PVSYST or PV*Sol
- Experience in the design and implementation of industrial electrical distribution systems
- Project management or commercial design experience
- Relevant design qualifications (e.g. C&G 2372)
- Membership of an accredited engineering institution (e.g. IET, IMechE, EI)
- Demonstrably working towards professional registration
- Experience with other renewable energy technologies
- Experience with writing technical reports
